is no eye: Photographs by John Cohen” at Silver Eye Center for Photography
This
exhibition featuring a collection of 100 black and white evocative
documentary images by photographer, filmmaker, and musician, John
Cohen, is on display at Silver Eye Center for Photography through
April 8. Images include portraits of Bob Dylan,
Robert Frank, Allen Ginsberg, Woody Guthrie, Roscoe Holcomb, Jack
Kerouac and Franz Kline among many other visionaries of the 1950s

Veil Players are celebrating the 87th anniversary of America's Passion
Play this year with performances running from Mar. 24 through Apr.
2. The play focuses on the life of Jesus Christ leading up to his
crucifixion, as well as the lives of Veronica and his other followers

Hunt
for the Cure scavenger hunt June 3
The
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is sponsoring the 1 st annual Hunt
for the Cure ($50 registration), a scavenger hunt that sends teams
of five throughout the South Side in search of various answers to
their clues. Prizes will be given to the teams that answer the most
clues. The Hunt for the Cure will take place on Saturday,
June 3 . It will kick-off at 4:30 p.m.; the scavenger hunt
will be from 5-7 p.m., and then there will be an after party beginning
at 7 p.m. at SouthSide Works. To learn more, please contact Katie

Side Poetry Reading
The
Pittsburgh Poetry Exchange and South Side Local Development Company
present a poetry experience. This free poetry reading will be held
on July 12 at Joseph-Beth Booksellers. The event is sponsored by

Side Mid-Winter Soup Contest raised nearly $4,000 for Brashear Association
A
special thanks to all who helped make the South Side Mid-Winter
Soup Contest a success! The event raised nearly $4,000 and over
1,000 cans of soup to benefit The Brashear Association Food Pantry
and brought over 800 people into the East Carson Street business
district on a chilly Saturday afternoon!
