Your ticket is the key to unlocking some of the most unique doors
in South Side.
This year we have assembled ten of South Side's most unique residences
and buildings. From distinctly repurposed lofts and condominiums
to beautifully restored homes, each is a reflection of the owner's
own style and tastes. These homes tell a story not just through
their unique architectural features but also the personal collections
of art, family heirlooms, memorabilia, and travel treasures housed
within.

The
13th of Paris
By Mat Smart
In
this charming and theatrical romantic comedy, Vincent travels to
an apartment in Paris carrying only a suitcase filled with the surprising
love letters of his late grandparents. When he begins receiving
romantic advice from a dapper ghost in a pinstripe suit, Vincent
wonders if the love he imagines is possible, even in the 13th of
Paris. The San Francisco Chronicle said, “Mat Smart is a talent
worth keeping an eye on for some time to come.”
March

Flight
By Charlayne Woodard
In
a magical ring of light, a group of slaves on a Savannah plantation
transcend their hardships by telling stories of bravery, healing,
mercy, and hope. Accompanied by song, dance and music, these tales
about the gift of flight will provide inspiration for the entire
family in this play described as “entrancing” by LA Weekly .
May 1–25, 2008
A Marriage Minuet
By David
Wiltse
Two
married couples perform a dizzy dance of stylish steps and changing
partners in this clever and literate romp directed last summer by
Tracy Brigden at the legendary Westport Country Playhouse. Variety
said this “delightful comedy…goes straight to the snappy lines,
epigrammatic observations and libidinous foolishness.”
May 22–June

Bust
By Lauren Weedman
In
Bust , writer/performer Lauren Weedman (a former Daily Show correspondent)
contrasts her volunteer work helping female inmates at the Los Angeles
County Jail with her experience in beauty-obsessed Hollywood. Weedman
plays dozens of characters, shifting from prostitute to parole officer,
addict to editor, Latino to Valley Girl in a matter of seconds.
Bust was voted Best in the Arts by Seattle Magazine . The Seattle
Times described it as “rife with hilarity and home truths gleaned
the hard way.”
