Home Safe Home program

Seniors who live on the South Side are eligible for a Home Safe Home visit. When you call for a visit, a volunteer will assess the safety of your home, discuss any repairs you may need and inform you of the many services available in South Pittsburgh. This program is provided by Nazareth Housing Services.

Senior Home Repair Program

The Senior Home Repair Program is a follow-up to the Home Safe Home Program. To be eligible for the Senior Home Repair Program, you must first sign up for a Home Safe Home visit. Depending on the extent of the repairs needed and your financial status, you may receive assistance either free of charge, on a sliding scale basis, or through low-interest loans.

Area Agency on Aging

The Area Agency on Aging is an office of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. Its purpose is to provide programs and services that enable the older adults of Allegheny County to maintain their independence, and to have safe, healthy lifestyles with the type of care that is needed.
